My Conditions

Contemporary Triptych

“Precarity is the condition of being vulnerable to others. Unpredictable encounters transform us; we are not in control, even of ourselves”  Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing

This triptych challenged my body and mind again, re-creating those visual experiences I endured. The repetition of my extremities translates all the severe movements done during my warehouse job. The darkness blended with an isolated atmosphere evoked the feeling of surveillance that I was exposed. The static state of my sculptural assemblage describes the lack of love for my body and what I sacrificed during my exploitation. This triptych intends to narrate how my circumstances pushed me to be conditioned under extreme labor situations, where my body was not capable of keeping up with the enormous amount of work. My experience shows that our precarity conditions can become a loud voice, silencing our intuition.
